Greatest Performance

Firstly,The Zucchinis has to apologise for not updating for such a long time.We have been too busy with our school's assignments.

Well,our gig was cancelled due to certain circumstances BUT we did performed in order to get our moral project (Kerja Amal) done.We performed at "Kem 1001 Impian" organised by The Red Cresent Society of SMK Tengkuan Ampuan Rahimah.You may all wonder how it went.Well,The Zucchinis did it tremendously GREAT..!!!Don't trust us?Ask the audience.

We started with our lasted hits,If I were You by Hoobastank.Jonathan went solo on that.Followed by Wake Me Up When September Ends sang by Guna.The crowd just went crazy when Guna started.Then,Bernie continued with Seven Nation Army.When that song ended,the crowd screamed for more.They just can't let us go.So,we did our intro-I say hey U say Yo.The crowd responded.The people there was alive compared to the other performances before.
Before that,we got a brand new guitarist?Guess who he is?He is no other than REINCHEZ NG.

Plan for GIG!

Since in Form 4&5 the students that are taking Moral in their SPM exams MUST do a Kerja Amal Project, The Zucchinis is planning a charity concert for the children in the Samaritan Home in Southern Park at the end of July 2006. We're doing a one day project in that home which includes, spending time with the kids, help them with some work, organising games, having fun with them, dinner and then the concert. We're planning to collect money for them also for those who wants to attent this GIG at night for the concert. Price of ticket is estimated to be only RM2. HAhah! Well, we're still noobs, what do you expect? But, the objective of this GIG is to donate money to the fatherless/motherless children (not offending). So, show your support by coming for our performances or just donating RM2 to them. And yeah, the band won't be using any of the money for anything. A pledge will be made to the home and the band will follow it.

New Band Member

LAdies and gentlemen,

The Zucchinis has just agreed on taking in another band member. She's non other than Shirlyn Yap. We don't have a picture of her but please be patient! Haha! She'll be our Pianist/Keyboardist/Effect. She's also going to sing a song or two. We might turn our band from an Indie and Alternative Rock band into a freelance band. Why? We might be playing a Chinese song and also a Tamil song. Yes, not joking ladies and gentlemen! So, please stay updated on this blog for more news about the band :).

Members, REVAMPED!

Wow! It's been such a long time since I've updated this blog. Firstly, sorry for not updating this blog and secondly, sorry about the bar. Still trying to repair that :). HAhah!

As all of you all know, that our band has been dead for like, more than one month? Hahah! Well, due to exams of course. So, on the second Friday of the 2 weeks of term holiday, we finally went for practises! Haha! Once again, we chose TuneStone jamming studio. Thought the instruments were gonna be better than last time and as good as the first time we jammed there, but, it went worse! Hahah!

Alright, the band line-up has been changed or you may say, revamped! Well, due to the fact that our former drummer, Gunarajah's bad timing in drums when he rolls, the band has decided that Jonathan be the drummer of this band. Gunarajah is now taking the role of Lead Vocals. Oh my goondess!! What happens to Bernie then?! Hahah! Well, he's playing rhythm (guitar) for the band now. Not that good but trying. Hahah!

Anyways, the practice was alright. No chance to play a new song. YEah, NEW SONG! Muahahah! We wanted to practise "If I Were You" by Hoobastank but didn't have the time to do it because of the members' lack of practises! Well, we need to refresh! Hahah!

We started our jamming time by practising our "best" song, 7 Nation Army by the White Stripes but, it wasn't our "best". HAha! Well, it was empty when we practised it because Jason (lead guitarist now) didn't play the solo properly and the fact that Bernie is new in playing the guitar in this song. But it was all good :). Haha! Well, after knowing what's wrong, we did something real twisted. Guna decided to play Jonathan's previous role in this song. He played rhythm, yes, rhythm! Hahah! Just simple tabs but he did it very well! We recorded it. The video will be uploaded soon. HAha!

Then after that, we practised When September Ends by Greenday. Wow! Didn't know that we were that good! Hahah! Bernie needs practise in this song but he played alright. But when we practised this song for the second time, Bernie decided to take some pictures instead until he was needed in this song! Hahahh! Gunarajah sang well in song. I think we also did take video for this song too. Not sure, if so, I'll upload it ;).

After that song, we went into the nightmare song! Oh my goodness! Just The Girl by ClickFive! HAhah! Since Jonathan can;t reach the note in the chorus, we decided to let Guna try. Well, for a first run through of the song, it sucks! HAha! So, we decided to go home and practise.

Why we jammed only 3 songs in 3 hours you ask? Well, we spent a lot of time trying to suit this and that and yeah, trying to make our 7 nation Army and When September Ends better. So, on the next practise, next Wednesday I think, we'll try If I Were You by Hoobastank and see how it goes. Pictures of previous practise will be posted here ;-)

Finally!!!!! This time it's right!

Finally! After one month of no practise, The Zucchinis are back! Hahaha! Literally I mean. We went through a time of blood, sweat and tears! HAHAHAHA! Well, it was kinda of a miracle to actually have this jamming session. Jonathan was supposed to go down to PJ but canceled, Ashwin has futsal, Guna had Takraw practise, Bernie has nothing to do and Jason was grounded. But in the end, we made it! Wait! There was also a situation when we reached the jamming studio (We tried out Rock Flames Studio - not bad). The man said we didn't book. Arr, misunderstanding. So, the duration of our practise was reduced to 2 hours only. Hahahah! Well, we enjoyed in the end. Here's the summary of our band practise in Rock Flames Studio!

Estimated time to jam: 2pm. But we only started at 3pm because of some misunderstanding. Ended at: 5pm.


First Song: 7 Nation Army
Didn't do well at first. Very sucky at the start. Hahah! What do you expect? First practise after one month?! Ashwin improved a lot! Hahah! SEriosly, he can play very well now. On tempo too! Bernie was bad at the start but gradually getting better as we were playing the song. Guna was crappy. Too many things on his mine. Jonathan? Well, can't reall do everything himself. Play lead, rhythm and almost everything. Too difficult for him. WE NEED JASON!


Second Song: Wake Me Up When September Ends
Arrr, once again, the starting, very bad! Ashwin, as I said above, improved in this song also. Very tight. Bernie? Still suffer from the start-of-song-bad-voice disease. Hahaha! Guna's timing was changing throughout the whole song. Pity him, too many things to do. And Jonathan, yeah, once again, WE NEED JASON!


Third Song: Just That Girl (new song)
Wow! I can't believe it, only 30 minutes, we managed to get the intro, the verse, the transaction from verse to chorus properly played! Hahah! I underestimated my bandmates! Sorry! Everything was alright. Bernie played rhythm (guitar) for this song. He can't reach to note. Hahah! Ashwin was saying "This song is easy larr". Guna was having trouble with the transaction from verse to chorus. But in the end, very nice playing. For Jonathan on the other hand, very satisfied. WE DON't NEED JASON IN THIS SONG! Hahah! Jonathan was lead vocals in this song. Not bad tho. Can;t believe it he actually can reach the note. Hahah! The guitar was easy, so, no big deal. Awesome song!


Overall
Not bad. Good job after one month. But, need a lot of improvement! Especially on the drums (no offence). Below are some pictures of us jamming, and of course, posing! HAHAHAH!
